We recently got an Engineered Krew T-Shirt from KÜHL recently and had the opportunity to test it out. If you haven’t heard of KÜHL, they are a outdoor, activewear brand with an emphasis on rugged adventures.
The Engineered Krew
Let’s start by saying this shirts feels so well made. The material feels substantial without losing breathability. It’s made of two different materials: a durable knit and matching mesh. Both together allow for maximum airflow. It wicks moisture and sweat really well and keeps you dry no matter the conditions. KÜHL claims that the fabric is also odor-resistant, which seemed to hold true for us.
In addition to the technical aspects of the shirt, it looks great too. The cut of it is flattering and modern. This shirt has a slim fit and tapered arms. It stays close to your body and doesn’t get in the way as you are working out or outside in nature. There is a seam that runs across the chest and the back where the materials come together. A heavier material is on the top and shoulders for added sun protection, and a more breathable material is on the bottom. The seam is functional and unique looking, but you do feel it when you put the shirt on. We noticed that after a few minutes though, you don’t feel it anymore.
KÜHL make this shirt in a pretty wide array of colors too. It comes in black, gray, a navy blue, a forest green, a mustard yellow, and a rusty red.
As with all of KÜHL’s stuff, this shirt is sturdy and well made. We’ve been wearing and washing it for a few weeks now and it hasn’t really shrunk or shown much sign of wear. It also seems to be pretty good about holding up against snags or pills that sometimes show up in the washer or if you rub against nature.

KÜHL is an independently owned company that prides itself on doing things a little differently than the other big brands. They focus on high quality gear that they build to last and produce responsibly. They use premium materials and construct their gear more durably than most brands. This means their gear is going to last you longer and hold up better, but also that their price point will be higher.
